U3A groups around the UK are members of the Third Age Trust whose main purpose is to encourage lifelong learning for those no longer in full time gainful employment. Internetwork was set up by a group of U3A computer enthusiasts in December 1997 with the purpose of encouraging the use of the Internet for more effective communications and learning for U3A members in the UK.
