Has its origins in the late nineteenth century. In 1957 it officially became the College of Bakery, Catering, Domestic Science and Associated Studies. Changed to current title in late 1980's. Transferred from FE to HE status in August 2002.

Cambridge Arts & Sciences College is an independent co-educational sixth form college situated in the heart of Cambridge. Students are admitted to study for GCSE, AS and A-levels, and Oxbridge entry. Because of its size, CATS is less institutionalised than larger colleges; it is free from unnecessary rules, and students enjoy a greater measure of independence than their counterparts at school.
